Keep Your Momentum Going with PT Northwest’s Independent Exercise Program
Finishing physical therapy is a big milestone, but it doesn’t mean your strength, mobility, or wellness journey has to stop. At PT Northwest, we designed our Independent Exercise Program to give you a seamless way to keep moving, stay consistent, and build on the progress you’ve already made.
Whether you’re fresh out of therapy or simply looking for a safe, supportive place to exercise, this program gives you access to our clinic gym, guidance from trained staff, and a structured environment built around your long-term health.
What Is the Independent Exercise Program?
The Independent Exercise Program, or IEP, lets members use our clinic gym and equipment during dedicated hours. You’ll have a familiar environment, knowledgeable staff nearby, and the freedom to work at your own pace.
It’s an ideal option for anyone who wants to:
- Continue their therapy exercises after discharge
- Maintain strength and mobility with a safe, guided routine
- Ease back into regular exercise
- Start a program with support from trained professionals
Our team is available to help you get comfortable with the equipment, answer questions, and assist with exercise technique as needed. While therapy patients remain our first priority, we make sure IEP members always feel welcomed and supported.
Who Can Join?
Recently Discharged Therapy Patients
If you’re transitioning straight from therapy, you get perks like:
- No evaluation fee when you join within 30 days of discharge
- A free trial based on how many PT sessions you attended
- Personalized continuity so you don’t lose the momentum you worked so hard to build
New to PT Northwest?
If you haven’t completed therapy with us recently, you’ll start with a quick medical history review. If needed, we can schedule a formal evaluation to make sure you’re ready to safely participate. Our goal is to set you up for success.

Whether you’re maintaining gains, building strength, managing a chronic condition, or simply staying active, this program meets you where you are.
Read what a patient had to say about our Wellness Program: “My name is Tass M., age 80. I have had intermittent physical therapy services at PTNW in Stayton for treatment of various injuries and surgeries over the past several years and that’s how I learned about their Wellness/Maintenance Program. I joined the program in 2009 and work out there 3-4 times weekly. It’s perfect for me as I get help designing my fitness program from staff with high level expertise, including coaching if I have questions about executing the exercises. Because I have had PT from shoulders to toes over the years, the staff has access to my records and know my strengths and weaknesses which can guide them in helping create my program.
My workout includes 30 minutes of cardio, then stretching, resistance exercises using both body and free weights, and core strengthening. All of the equipment necessary to carry out my program is available there and in good operating condition. I sanitize everything after I use it, which is standard operating procedure for the clinic. I understand that therapy patients are the priority so if I am using space or equipment Therapists need for a client, they let me know, and I shift to another exercise or area. I have plenty of exercises to choose from!
The staff, including office personnel and therapy staff are always friendly, welcoming, and encouraging, which is an integral extension of my commitment to maintaining good health, and I am deeply grateful for everyone there and their support. THANK YOU!“- Tass
